Our last two days saw us hiking almost 18 miles and losing 4000 feet in elevation. We are back to normal people altitude and civilization again.
There were about 20-30 tents at the BC. A guide for an Italian couple we encountered on the way up told us that there were about 20 climbers that week trying to summit Ama Dablam. We watched a group leaving base camp heading up to camp 1 that morning.
Our journey continues in the Himalayas. This is our hike on Day 11 up Chukhung Ri which has a gorgeous panoramic view including the north face of Ama Dablam.
After an exhausting day crossing Cho La, we, still in recuperation mode, found ourselves a wonderful little high mountain refuge called Pyramid.
Our toughest day on this trek. It was a bit scary at times. I am thankful to have gone through it safely and get to blog about the experience.
Going up Gokyo Ri once is obviously not satisfying enough once you turn on the beast mode…
